Avian Front is a sculptural barrier between the Denver Zoo and City Park. The concept was based off the micro architecture of a feather. Each vertical steel pipe was individually shaped to correspond with the adjacent vertical elements, creating a horizontal visual composition that engages passing pedestrians, motorists and cyclists, as well as park users. Over 14,000 feet of steel pipe was salvaged to create this work that totals 400’ in length.
